in the old boat house

That oar reminds me of the one we have at the cottage in Michigan, Paul.
paul: well now you have to post a picture showing us your oar sometime Ginnie
That's very nice paul: it looks very much like a painting
paul: i think that comes a little from pushing the processing. The scene was very dark and i was hand-holding so the image was rather underexposed. The picture here is quite heavily processed to bring it back
A sort of anniedog style 'through the window' shot, paul. very good.
paul:
perfect crop
paul: actually i worried a little about the composition, it feels very central on the oar with distractions around the sides. The crop came from including all the elements I liked in the shot but I am not sure about how balanced they are
Lovely textures and geometry going on here, with soft light enhancing the mood- very nice!
paul: thank you David. I was more aware of the textures I think when i took the shot. I think the subject offered lots of other possibilities in terms of geometry and graphic lines. It was actually so dark that it was hard to evaluate all the possibilities
Full of character Tad.
paul: it was a strange little find. I nearly walked past the door to the boat-house without noticing it until Caroline pointed it out
Lovely detail here, with the contrasting colours and textures of different wood
paul: it is a beautiful old door
Great texture and tonal shot Paul with interesting shapes as well. Well seen and taken.
paul: I just wished I had brought my tripod!
I like this one Paul.
paul: so do i Mick
Excellent Paul. Love the colour and texture and it is a nice composition
paul: thanks Bill, it was a nice little find
strong lighting and textures paul
paul: it was the textures that jumped out at me at the time - the lighting comes more from the processing
I like it very much Paul !
paul: so do I Zeb
Brilliant shot here, love the atmosphere and the wood texture.
paul: i must post some pictures of the rest of the boat house carved into the rocks. It was a very interesting place
Nice textures and colour
paul: there was more there than my eye could see at the time!
