Like yesterday's pic, Paul, this has a "feel" to it and actually looks a bit like a painting. It feels ancient...like a place where lots of history has taken place.
paul: for some reason I dont quite understand, this was scheduled to appear on Sunday and you have commented on it, but is now showing up on Monday, but has your comment attached. Whatever, you saw it first Ginnie! You are right about the history attached to the place. This is Crail in Fife and is one of my favourite places in the world
Like the place, the shot, the subject matter and framing and the PP work- all in all I love it!
paul: I thought it might be your cup of tea David
Paul, I really love the textures and details on the ground. Moss and light on it. I love the 2 coloured boats behind.
paul: Thanks Florence. Looking at it now I wonder if I should have removed the metal work at the top of the ladder in the background- it is a little distracting
Super, super work Paul. This would make a great jigsaw puzzle. apart from not looking out of place in one of the harbour pubs in the area you took it. Very, very well done mate. I don't think I will have time to get up to you guys this time, but hopefully I can get back here for a holiday in the near future, then I will definitely make a visit to Yorkshire - a day out with you and Mal would be fantastic. Kind regards, Neil.
paul: hope you are enjoying Wales anyway. Hope to see you round here some day soon
This is an awesome photo. I love it!
paul: Thank you Helen - very pleased that you liked it
This must be that new lens of yours? There's a gorgeous quality to the foreground stones and lobster pots(?). Lovely image.
paul: Its not so new now but this isnt a new picture either. I was looking through the reject bin and saw what I had missed the first time. Thanks Jose
have always loved these shots of your paul. the tones are so rich.
paul: thanks for your encouragement Nev. I like this look too and I find myself looking out for scenes that would suit this treatment
Oooh, thats really nice Tad, I like it
paul: I have posted a few pictures from this harbour but I think this one comes closest to capturing the spirit of the place. I will dig out a photo I took here nearly 30 years ago and post it soon and you will see how it hasn't changed in the slightest.
The pottery at Crail is the other unchanging thing. I have pieces made there in the 80s that are still used daily
That is gorgeous Tad, lovely warm colours
Ooo lovely. Great rocks in the foreground.
paul: I took so mamy pictures here! Everywhere you looked there were fantastic colours and textures
