The Hole of Horcum 5

The excellent Horseshoe Inn, conveniently situated at the half-way mark in the little village of Levisham, provided a welcome lunch but by the time we tore ourselves away we knew we would only just get back to the car before the light went.  We made our way along the easier track around the top of the Hole and were treated to first real bit of sun breaking through as it set

just damn, paul. Breathtakingly divine.
This tiny strip of land at the bottom is an essential part of the image. It grounds the trees. You lost it by choosing the black background.
paul: quite right - I forgot to turn on the border!
Wow ! A perfect shot !
A likey for me !!!!!
paul: thanks Zeb, I don't know aout perferct but Iwas pleased to find some drama in the sky at last

Daring composition but it works so well - as Viktor says that strip of land is essential. What a wonderful end to your day's walk - I've really enjoyed these images.
Ingrid
paul: Don't worry Ingrid, there are a couple more still to come smile The light was just starting to get interesting!
Great shot - very dramatic - you know, this might work with a further crop - using a 4:1 format. Mike
paul: Good idea Micheal - the top part doesn't really contribute that much does it?
Spectacular once in a lifetime shot!
and you were rewarded with a stunning scene that you have composed and captured superbly Paulsmile
Absolutly divine Paul! A likey for me.

I just want to chop the sky off. so I have scrolled the image up and now it is a glorious letterbox and I love it
