photoblog image the castle

the castle

When I lived in St Andrews (nearly 30 years ago!) there was a fantastic photographer/artist/print maker there who made a living selling posters to students. I bought a print of St Andrews castle seen from the beach which looked very much like this.

I still have the print but the years have not been kind to it. This is a tribute to the guy who made the original and if the 30x24 inch print turns out ok, it will be a replacement for my faded poster

Love the drama in this. I can understand why you wanted to replicate the print.
paul: it was quite a strange feeling wandering around until I knew I was in the exact same spot where my old print had been photographed!
'cock crows' and 'moonlight shadows. I wonder if the original was taken in bright sunlight? You have worked wonders on this. richard
paul: it was a rather dull grey day Richard - it has been well and truly worked over smile
