A walk around the snickelways of York

Turning right along the cobbled Minster Yard we come across the Treasurer's House dating from 1600 - a National Trust property which is quite interesting to visit.

Next we turn left down Chapter House Street and left into Ogleforth which Mark W James' book informs us was originally called Ugel's Ford.

Note the Dutch styling to the roof line
paul: if you say so
We went here the last time we visited York, while my daughter and her husband went to battle their way around the Minster. It is a nice quiet oasis!
paul: good call Bill
Fine looking building isn't it.
paul: no argument from me smile
It's a long time since I've been in York - must pop up again this summer.
paul: let us know if you are coming Tom!
