Storks and nest

I read that Storks' nests are often very large and may be used for many years. Some nests have been known to grow to over two metres in diameter and about three metres in depth. Storks were once thought to be monogamous, but this is only partially true. They tend to be attached to nests as much as partners

Lovely things aren't they Paul, we saw some nesting in the Netherlands last year
paul: they were everywhere in Marrakech, some of the nests were enormous!
One is checking out the others bottom. They are attractive birds.
paul: It is a well hidden bottom under all those feathers
Magnificent birds aren't they.
paul: very stately I thought
Nice shot, Paul, those nests must take some building.
paul: over several years it seems
Fine shot Paul
paul: Thanks Tom - it was a long lens attached to my little Sony via an adapter which took some getting used to
They are a great sight. Seeing them in Hollandshire last year was one of the highlights of our visit
paul: I was lucky to be able to get up on the same level with them, but quite some way away. I was really missing my tripod on this one
Great shot!!!!
Did I tell you how great it was to meet you at Cosford? Well - if I didn't - now I have! smile
paul: I think you said something to that effect at the time, and I felt much the same way grin
